Meet AMP's Newest Addition: Coach KCal

A long time ago in a galaxy not so far, far away....

It is a period of civil war. Rebel kettlebells, striking from a hidden base, have won their first victory against the evil Galactic Snack Cakes.

During the battle, Rebel spies managed to steal secret training programs to the Empire's ultimate weapon, the DIABETUS, a glucose intolerant space station with enough insulin to destroy an entire planet.

Pursued by the Empire's sinister agents, Princess Callahan races to AMP aboard her starship, custodian of the stolen programs that can help her people achieve epic PRs and restore fitness to the galaxy....

Fitness Wisdom: Fitness is experiential, there’s no magic pill. Enjoy the process. Sometimes it’s a struggle, that’s true, but when you realize the power your own body can possess it truly is magical and can change your life.

Favorite Superhero? Actually have two. Wonder Woman, because obvi. Bad ass, lasso of truth, her own jet (even if no one else can see it), cool bracelets, great hair, rad style choices, inspiration to millions of girls and women going on what 60 years? Not too shabby. I mean she’s pretty much everything. I also have an affinity for Wolverine. He’s the most human to me and I relate to his struggle to learn to control his anger and temper. He tries, He just wants to be better. He doesn’t always succeed, but he’s trying. Plus Hugh Jackman is crazy hot in those movies, I mean come on!

Favorite thing about AMP? Just one? Ugh, okay. I am a weirdo and a misfit and often feel out of place and different in the rest of the world, but as soon as I walk in those doors I feel like I’m home. (Who started chopping onions in here?)

Why are you excited to join the AMP Fitness Team?

So many reasons. I love that everyone, members and AMP Team alike, are just trying to be better everyday. That’s not a thing you find everywhere. I’m also excited to work with a bunch of hot uber-nerds who also aren’t afraid to be ridiculous, but also who aren’t afraid to open up about the hard stuff. Oh, and just being able to breathe the same air as Frank the Pickle is an honor.

How would you describe your training style?

Hands-on. I really love helping people move better and feel better. I’ve been told I’m a bit of a stickler for technique and form. It was said with love so I take it as a compliment. I pride myself on my people moving well while also letting them grow and figure it out a little bit for themselves. We are a team, a partnership. I love geeking out about fitness, so love when clients ask questions. And when I say hands on, I mean it. If people are cool with tactile cueing, so am I, I don’t care if you’re sweaty. Also like to make it fun because life is too short so we should be ridiculous when we can be!

What are some of your other passions/hobbies in life?

Reading, learning new things, singing and music, eating good food, hanging out with my friends and family, being outside in nature, my pets, napping (often napping with my pets), and shoe shopping.

How will you help the Super Humans at AMP succeed?

By listening. Pushing them when they need to be pushed. Hugging them when they need to be hugged. By being real, being there for them so they can be their best selves. And by wearing super fun sparkly shoes!
